Project update 3/2022

The main simulations of the energy system model for the NewSETS project are now ready. With this achievement, the team aims to submit their first high-level paper to a review process by Q4.

Since the last update, NewSETS was presented in Mariehamn for local key energy actors. The audience included:

• Government officials from Landskapsregeringen.

• Representatives from the island's major DSO,

• the Åland University of Applied Science, and

• the chamber of commerce.

The attendees participated in the NewSETS project's steering by voting on the most exciting research questions.

In addition, NewSETS project partner Polar Night Energy Oy was featured in a publication by Promaint - "a Finnish independent, non-profit network of experts in production efficiency, asset management and maintenance". You can read the article in English here.
